During the season of Capricorn
2023 brings us our first full moon of the year. The season is Capricorn and the Moon is in the part of the sky we call Cancer. Collectively we have entered into a year of curriculum ruled by The Chariot in the Tarot. Let’s break some of this down so we know how to work with the full moon energy this week.
The Chariot ruled by Cancer and also rules the collectives curriculum in 2023. This full moon on Friday, January 6th, 2023 illuminates our “bodies".” Where we nourish ourselves and where we neglect ourselves. This is not only about our physical bodies. This is about our emotional body, the pain body, creation and our dream bodies, and also our collective bodies. The Chariot is the vehicle that accompanies and drives “all our bodies” on the journey. It’s indicative of the tools we use to get there.
What tools are you using to get where you want to go in life?
Are they working for you?
Are they getting you there, or is it time to change up which tools are utilized?
It’s time to (re)consider what ride you want to take.
This full moon brings a drive to explore our emotional body. What are your feelings communicating to you? What can you release? What tools are you using that are not helping you cultivate a healthy connection to your emotional body? This energy we are in right now is powerful medicine to let those tools go. To let them die. Release them into the winter darkness where they can be absorbed and dissolved so that they can be transformed into something new.
Cancer is a cardinal sign, meaning, it wants actions, something initiated, it must move.
Cancers element is Water. Water meaning ‘Feelings.’
We are in the season of Capricorn (also a Cardinal energy), meaning, it wants results, it can be ambitious and very serious about the work until it’s completed. Capricorns are ruled by Saturn - the father of time, of discipline, and our greatest teacher. Capricorns are ruled by the Earth element, meaning, the physical, the work, the body.
It’s okay to cry, and to get angry, to feel all your feelings - in fact - Cancer and Capricorn demand that you do. This is a time of action in this space of feeling your feelings and considering the tools you use to contain, process, or liberate those feelings. There is so much information in these feelings and this full moon is urging you to open those doors and let them breathe. To be honored. To be felt. To be released.
